There is only one difference between Dream and Aim. Dream requires effortless sleep and Aim requires sleepless effort. So sleep for dreams and wake up for aims..

Anonymous said:
I obviously don’t know anything about you (except that you hate Natalie Portman too which makes you a genius imo) but I can relate to you my experience of going from a philosophy degree (also centered around ethics and morality) to law school. This is just my experience obviously but for me, it was horrible. Law school is not academic, it is a professional school; it is about learning a skill. It’s not about questioning or discovering or exploring. It’s about learning in the most efficient way possible how to read, speak, and write the language of the law. I learned the hard way that just because philosophy of law was one of my favorite classes did not mean that I wanted to be a lawyer. If you like to think in abstraction, are self-motivated and independent thinking, if you prefer to think than to do, I would personally suggest you seriously question whether law school is the place for you. If you are a doer, if you like to be given tasks, if you like to get in the mud per se, you might like the law. When I was leaving law school, I asked the advice of a professor and I told him that the only thing basically keeping me in law school was that I didn’t want to disappoint my father. He told me that in our parent/offspring relationships disappointment is inevitable on both sides and isn’t as scary as we think it will be. In then end, all we really want is happiness for the other person and that is the misguided source of the disappointment. I hope this can help you in some way make a decision that is right for you.

lol I’ve already disappointed my parents once when I told them that med school was not for me. To this day my mom tells me that it’s never too late to follow my dreams and take the MCAT.
That said I do know they just want me to be happy. I feel like a lot of their hesitation to endorse a philosophy grad program has to do with the fear of uncertainty. Law school teaches a skill that seems much more marketable than philosophy, though it’s not like the job market for law school graduates is that stellar now anyway.
I really appreciate the message, and I will be keeping this in mind come next year at applications. I like law quite a bit, but it’s also really refreshing to hear that law school isn’t necessarily the next and the best step.
If you want people to build a ship, don’t drum up people to gather wood, divide the work, and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea.
I’m still terribly undecided about university and work and life, and here I am, trying to submit my NUS application by this weekend so I have enough time to sort out the paperwork that they want without rushing it next weekend right before field camp..

People will say, ‘There are a million ways to shoot a scene,’ but I don’t think so. I think there’re two, maybe. And the other one is wrong.
Shit happens. We fall in love and end up getting hurt. We bitch, bitch, bitch. We bitch about bitches being bitches. We go out and have a kick ass time with our friends and those will be the memories. One day that’s going to all pass. So make the most of what you have now, forget all the bullshit and drama and live your fucking life with a sexy smile on your face.
